The Sportage HEV pairs a 1.6L turbocharged engine with a potent 44.2 kW Hybrid System Motor to deliver all-electric propulsion in certain driving situations. This sophisticated hybrid system produces a combined 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, channelled through a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission to the standard all-wheel drive system.
Efficiency stands as one of the strongest attributes of the Sportage HEV with impressive fuel consumption ratings of 6.1 L/100km in city driving, 6.3 L/100km on the highway, and a combined rating of just 6.2 L/100km. The vehicle’s 270-volt lithium-ion polymer battery supports discharge power of 64kW and charge power of 49kW, contributing to its exceptional efficiency.
The Sportage PHEV takes electrification a step further by charging in about 2 hours with a Level 2 charger, letting drivers operate in all-electric mode and skip the gas station for most city driving. Available in a range of sophisticated colours including Snow White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Fusion Black, Steel Grey, Dawning Red, and Vesta Blue, the Sportage hybrid models offer plenty of options to suit individual tastes and preferences.
The vehicles come standard with 17-inch alloy wheels on the EX trim, while the higher SX trim upgrades to stylish 18-inch alloy wheels. LED lighting technology is featured prominently throughout the exterior, with LED MFR headlights, LED positioning lights, and LED daytime running lights coming standard. The SX trim enhances the lighting experience further with projection LED headlights and full LED taillights, replacing the LED and bulb combination taillights found on the EX model.
